MESSAGE FROM THE SUPERINTENDENT: SCHOOL RE-OPENING UPDATE 7-21-20
Dear Raymondville ISD Community,
I want to take the time to share the latest information regarding the
start of the 2020-21 school year. I truly appreciate all the questions,
suggestions, and views some of you have sent. We're in this together, and
everyone here at Raymondville ISD is listening.
Let me begin by saying that we have been proactively preparing to start
the school year as safely as possible. Bearkat Nation will have some of the
safest schools in the State with a new air purifying technology system that
eliminates COVID-19 and other viruses.
As prepared as we are, we have noticed the rise in COVID-19 cases in
Willacy County and the surrounding counties, and we intend to act in the best
interest of our community. Raymondville ISD has been working with local
officials and neighboring school districts to develop a countywide plan for
returning to school safely.
Attached is a letter with the recommendations Raymondville ISD is
sending to Judge Guerra. Classes will begin on Monday, August 24, but they will
start off-campus through distance/online learning.
The bigger question everyone is asking is: When will on-campus school
begin? We are recommending for on-campus instruction to start on Monday,
September 21, WITH THE OPTION of starting at a later date if COVID-19 cases do
not significantly decline.
No one wants to see your children in school more than we do.
Raymondville ISD has it all …passionate teachers …challenging academics
…championship sports and extra-curricular activities. School really is the
place where your son or daughter can thrive and reach their full potential, but
the health and safety of students, staff, and community is our top priority.
A month remains before the school year begins, and our plans may even
have to change again. Still, I promise we will re-open our doors to the
children of our community as soon as we believe the time is appropriate.

tomar el tiempo para compartir la más reciente información tocante al empiezo
del año escolar 2020-2021. Agradezco

distrito escolar de Raymondville estamos escuchando.
Permítanme
empezar diciendo que hemos estado proactivamente preparándonos para empezar el
año escolar lo más seguro posible.
Bearkat Nation tendrá unas de las escuelas más seguras en el estado con
un nuevo sistema de tecnología que purifica el aire y que elimina el Covid 19 y
otros virus.
Al prepararnos, hemos notado el aumento de casos de Covid 19 en el
condado Willacy y en los otros condados cercanos y intentamos actuar en el mejor
interés de nuestra comunidad.
Raymondville I.S.D. ha estado trabajando con oficiales locales y
distritos escolares vecinos para desarrollar un plan para todo el condado para
regresar a la escuela seguros.

Nosotros estamos recomendando que la instrucción en la escuela empieze
el lunes, 21 de septiembre CON LA OPCIÓN de empezar en una fecha después si los
casos de Covid 19 no se disminuyen significantemente.
Nadie
quiere ver sus niños en la escuela más que nosotros. Raymondville I.S.D. lo tiene todo…maestros
apasionados…académicas desafiantes…campeonatos en deportes y actividades
extracurriculares. La escuela es realmente el lugar donde sus niños pueden prosperar
y alcanzar su máximo potencial, pero el bienestar y seguridad de los alumnos,
el personal y la comunidad es nuestra prioridad.
Nos queda
un mes antes de que empiezen las clases y nuestros planes podrán cambiar otra
vez. Aun, les prometo que volveremos
abrir las puertas a los niños de esta comunidad tan pronto que creamos que el
tiempo es apropiado.
