Superintendent Statement March 6, 2020
March 6, 2020 Update
Former Band Director Ramirez was taken into police custody today after an investigation by the Raymondville ISD Police Department uncovered misconduct with a student at RISD. We suspended Mr. Ramirez on February 17, 2020, when Police were notified of a recent report of alleged wrongdoing that occurred before he was employed by the District. The Raymondville ISD Police Department followed that report with a full investigation. Mr. Ramirez ended his employment with the District on February 27, 2020.
All potential employees must pass a national background check before being hired by Raymondville ISD. If the District suspects or receives a report of employee misconduct, we will continue to work with law enforcement to conduct a full investigation. We will not hesitate to take action on any employee who has done wrong.
RAYMONDVILLE, TEXAS, MARCH 4, 2020 — The Raymondville Independent School District, through its Superintendent of Schools, Mr. Stetson Roane, would like to inform the community that Band Director Ramirez is no longer employed by the District.
