Notice About Chickenpox
Dear RISD Community,
Raymondville ISD received a report that a
suspected case of chickenpox has occurred at Raymondville High School. At this point
we have only one suspected case and no confirmed cases. We have chosen to
inform you because student health and safety is our top priority. If your child was possibly exposed, the
health department recommends that you watch your child for the signs and
symptoms of the disease. Chickenpox is a very contagious disease caused by a virus. It is
easily spread through the air by sneezing and coughing or through contact with
someone’s chickenpox sores. A notice with additional information has been sent with all high school students.
Thank you,
S. Roane
