Great things happening at RISD

It is that time of the year when we reflect on the year that is coming to an end. We reflect on all of the great things happening in the district. To show our gratitude to the staff, parents and community we hosted our 1st annual Christmas Open House at Central Office. At Raymondville ISD we continue working on ensuring student outcomes, attendance and safety. Raymondville ISD is committed in providing a safe, bully-free learning environment for students. In order to be fair and proactive, a committee has been formed to review reports of bullying as they come in. The committee is made up of administrators who are independent of the campuses, including: Benjamin Clinton, Special Programs Director; Andrea Mungia, Curriculum and Instruction Director; Denise Butler, Wil-Cam Coop Director; David Longoria, Chief Financial Officer; and Abiel Cantu, District Testing Coordinator. This committee will review reports of bullying to assure that campuses follow district policy and procedures in the Bullying Prevention & Intervention Handbook, and will evaluate the campus determination of whether bullying occurred. I would like to take the time to wish all our students, staff, parents and community a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from the Raymondville ISD Superintendent and Board of Trustees!
